Pricing Luxury Portraits

As you may have discovered, there are many different ways that people choose to price portrait photo sessions but if you are looking for a top family photographer then it is an investment.   I want to be totally transparent about what you are paying for and why luxury family photography is different from a high street experience or package. The most important thing that you are investing in is actually my time – it takes a lot of effort and skill to make beautiful pictures, both during the capture and afterwards in post-production.  This is why all of my photography shoots are based on an hourly rate for my shooting time and an associated hourly rate for my studio/editing time. I have put together a detailed PDF about the cost of a professional family photo shoot, how to prepare and what locations to consider. Rather than opting for portrait packages, I have an Essential Collection for £700 which is for a 2 hour location shoot with an assistant, you will get the fully edited shoot in screen resolution jpegs, beyond that it is up to you if you want to add additional presentation options like prints, albums etc.

I hate being sold to so it is important that you know you will not have any pressure from me on that front! You might feel that 2 hours is too long, or not long enough for the shoot you have in mind and this isn’t an issue due to my simple approach to charging for my time and then offering you the option to purchase luxury portrait frames, albums, prints etc afterwards if you wish.
