Indian and Civil Wedding at Blenheim Palace
Rukmini and Craig’s Blenheim Palace wedding was wonderful – with 3 different outfits, a Hindu ceremony, a civil ceremony and emotional rituals including the Barat and breaking of the coconut.
The wedding photography started for me at the Mehndi evening – Rukmini looked absolutely beautiful and there was a real sense of excitement in the air.
The Blenheim Palace wedding began with a Hindu Ceremony and the bride wore the traditional and auspicious colour red which was echoed in Craig’s Indian outfit. Once this part of the day was finished we took them to the big Blenheim vistas for wedding photographs before the bride and groom went to get changed for the western civil ceremony which also took place in the Orangery at Blenheim.
Following the civil ceremony we went for photos into the Water Terraces and then all of the guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Following speeches Rukmini did her final change into a stunning pink and silver outfit which she wore for the cake cut, dancing, sparklers and the Vidai – the final emotional send off where she truly leaves her parents for a new life. I have always loved Indian wedding photography – they are amazing to photograph – both visually and emotionally.
